A deli is offering a special for its sandwiches. A customer will receive three free sandwiches for every five sandwiches purchased. Jane ordered 619 sandwiches for an office party at a large company. How many sandwiches did Jane have to pay for?

    For every 5 sandwiches purchased, she got 3 free

    For 619 she would get 619 x3 / 5 = 1857 / 5 = 371 free

    She ordered 619 - 371 = 284

    she paid for 284 sandwiches
