    Not true

    Step-by-step explanation:

    x + (2x + 5) = 3 (x - 4) + 7

    Opening bracket on left and side and distributing 3 over (x-4) on right hand side

    x+2x+5=3x-3 x 4 + 7

    adding like terms

    3x+5=3x-12+7

    3x+5=3x-5

    Hence

    5 = - 5

    Which is not possible, Hence the equation given to us is false.
