During a class election 20 students voted for candidate A. If the ratio of votes for candidate A to the votes for candidate B was 10:1, how many votes did candidate B receive?

    Since candidate A got 20 votes and his ratio to candidate B could be explained as 10:1 therefore we multiply both values by 2 to get 20 on A's part. Now the 10 becomes 20 and 1 becomes 2
