The distance to the neartest gas station is 2 4/5 kilometers. What is this distance written as a decimal?

    Well it is two WHOLE kilometers which equals 200% (doing percent first makes making it into a decimal faster) and then divide 4 by 5 and you get 80%. Then adding the two, you get 280%. This equals with basic algebra knowledge 2.80.

    Another way to do this is to make it a mixed fraction and then divide the numerator by the denominator. 14/5=2.80
