Why is 82 a composite number? A composite number is a number that can be divided evenly by more numbers than 1 and itself ... The number 82 can be evenly divided by 1, 2, 41 and 82, with no remainder. Since 82 cannot be divided by just 1 and 82, it is a composite number.
