What is the solution of square root 1 - 3x = x + 3

    First you have to solve the equation for x

    1 - 3x = x + 3

    1 - 2x = 3

    -2x = 2

    x = - 1

    since you cannot take the square root of - 1 the answer should be

    D) no solution
