What pattern do you see when raising a power to a power

When raising a power to a power, you can see that there is a pattern of the two powers being multiplied in order to form a new power.

For example:

If we have (x^2) ^2, the simplified version would be x^4 and the pattern is shown because 2 multiplied by 2 is 4
