    x = 0

    distribute parenthesis on both sides of the equation and simplify

    3x - 7 - 4x = 10x - 8 + 1

    - x - 7 = 10x - 7 (subtract 10x from both sides)

    - 11x - 7 = - 7 (add 7 to both sides)

    - 11x = 0 (divide both sides by - 11)

    x = 0
