to find the area of the side length of 4 units you can square the number 4 the expression (4+3) to the power of 2 gives the area of the square if the side lengths are increased by 3 units how much greater is the new square than the old one?

    The area of the new square is 7^2 = 49.

    The area of the old square is 4^2 = 16.

    Hence, the new square is 33 greater than the old one.
