    Step-by-step explanation:

    If two similar triangles have a scale factor of a : b, then the ratio of their perimeters is a : b

    (. perimeter ABC) / (perimeter DEF) = (AB) / (DE)

    Example:Triangle (ABC) with perimeter 24. Find new triangle (DEF) using proportion 9/6

    24/perim DEF = 6/9

    Cross multiplication

    (24*9) = 6 * (perimeter of DEF)

    216 = 6 * (perimeter of DEF

    Divide both sides by 6

    36 = DEF

    Triangule with perimeter 24 (find new perimeter)

    The perimeter of the new triangle using proportion 6/9 is 36

    Answer:Sample Response: To find the perimeter, you can set up a proportion with two dimensions from the original triangle and the two dimensions from the reduced triangle, one known and one unknown. You solve for the missing sides and then add the measurements to find the new perimeter.
