Convert this Standard Form to Slope-Intercept Form. To do this, first, move - 2x to the right side of the equivalence symbol and since y is already isolated, that is the only thing you have to do, and you will arrive at this:
y = - 2x - 1
To graph this, start from your y-intercept of [0, - 1], where it intersects the y-axis, and since your rate of change [slope] is - 2, do rise/run by moving two blocks south over 1 block east. Repeat this process up until you form a line.
