A certain drug is made from only two ingredients: compound a and compound

b. there are 6 milliliters of compound a used for every 5 milliliters of compound

b. if a chemist wants to make 1089 milliliters of the drug, how many milliliters of compound a are needed?

    594 milliliters. so for every 6 ml of compound a 5ml of compound b is used. 5+6=11. 1080:11=99, hence 99*6=594
