dog #1 weighs 5 times more than dog #2. total weight of both dogs is 84 pounds. how much does each dog weigh?

    Let's say dog 2 is x

    you would do:

    5x + x = 84

    6x = 84

    x = 14

    so then 14 • 5 = 70

    so dog 1 weighs 70 pounds and dog 2 weighs 14 pounds
