5x+3=10x-2

Yes, in order to solve equations make sure to collect terms together - usually this makes the problem a lot easier to solve!
So subtract 5x from both sides to get
3 = 5x - 2
add 2 to both sides to get
5x = 5
now divide both sides by 5 to get
x = 1
