    So, f (1) = 3;

    a - a - a - 5 = 3;

    - a - 5 = 3;

    -a = 5 + 3;

    -a = 8;

    a = - 8;

    f (x) = (-8) x^3 - (-8) x^2 + 8x - 5;

    f (-2) = (-8) (-2) ^3 - (-8) (-2) ^2 + 8·2 - 5 = + 64 - 32 + 16 - 5 = 43;
