    15 Quarters, 20 Nickels, and 5 Dimes

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Dimes = y

    Quarters = x

    Nickels = x+5

    y:

    2x+5+y=40

    y=35-2x

    Solve:

    5 (x+5) + 25 (x) + 10 (y) = 525

    Substitute y:

    5 (x+5) + 25 (x) + 10 (35-2x) = 525

    30x+25+350-20x=525

    10x=150

    x=15
