What is the solution to the equation 3/4 (8x) - x = - 2 (x-7)

    So by distributing 3/4 into 8x you should get 6x, that minus the x would be 5x=-2 (x-7). You then again want to distribute the - 2 into (x-7), which you should get - 2x+14. Thus 5x=-2x+14. You then add 2x to each side which cancels out the - 2x and makes the 5x a 7x. You are then left with 7x=14 and if you simplify your answer should be x=2.
