    Suppose f (x) = 6x-2 and g (x) = 2x+4

    a.

    (f+g) (x) = 6x - 2 + 2x + 4

    (f+g) (x) = 8x + 2

    b.

    (f-g) (x) = 6x - 2 - (2x + 4)

    (f-g) (x) = 6x - 2 - 2x - 4

    (f-g) (x) = 4x - 6
