Calculate the kinetic energy of a 0.5 kg soccer ball that is falling at a velocity of 3m/s.

Calculate the potential energy of the same soccer ball if the height of the ball is 12m use 10m/s^2 as the acceleration due to gravity

PE = mgh

KE=1/2 m v^2

A. KE = 4.5J

PE = 6J

B. KE = 0.75J

PE = 18 J

C. KE = 225J

PE = 600J

D. KE = 2.25J

PE = 60J

    The expression for the kinetic energy is mass times velocity squared over two For the first question that gives us 2,25 joules If the ball is at the given height then it has a further 60 Joules in potential energy. Answer is D
