So we can multiply both sides by a and we get. X*a = 5y. Then we replace 5 with b because we need to find out how many cakes, we cant just assume its 5. So then it becomes X*a = b*y. Then we divide both sides by y and we get -

Answer: b = (X*a) / y whereas b is the number of cakes.
