We are given square RSTU dilates by a factor of 1/2 and we get R'S'T'U. as dilated square.

Dilation is the becoming or being made smaller or larger by multiplying by a factor.

RSTU dilates by a factor of 1/2. That mean each side of the dilated square R'S'T'U would be 1/2 (half) of the original square RSTU.

In other way, if we say " Sides of square RSTU would be two times of sides of square R'S'T'U".

We are given side R'S' = 2 units.

    So, the side RS = two times R'S' = 2*2 = 4 units.

Therefore, If R'S' is 2units RS would be equals to 4 units.
