What is the slope of a line perpendicular to the line whose equation is x - 3 y = 12 x-3y=12.

    The answer is - 3

    x-3y=12

    -3y=-x+12

    y=x/3 - 4

    The slope of this line is 1/3 and - 1 / (1/3) = - 3
