First, distribute the factor of 4 over the terms in parentheses.

    20+4⋅3x+4⋅ (-5) + 2x=2820+12x-20+2x=28

    Next, combine like terms.

    20-20+12x+2x=2814x=28

By the division property of equality, divide both sides of the equation by 14 to solve for the value of x.

14x14=2814x=2 (i got it from the test)
