    x = 6

    distribute the bracket on the right side of the equation and simplify

    34 + 6x = 2 + 16x - 28

    34 + 6x = 16x - 26 (subtract 16x from both sides)

    34 - 10x = - 26 (subtract 34 from both sides)

    - 10x = - 60 (divide both sides by - 10)

    x = 6

    So basically it's a lot of collecting like terms, but x=6
