1 Regroup terms
3 (4-x) = 20x-7
2 Expand
12-3x=20x-7
3 Add 3x to both sides
12=20x-7+3x
4 Simplify
20x-7+3x to 23x-7
12=23x-7
5 Add 7 to both sides
12+7=23x
6 Simplify 12+7 to 19
19=23x
7 Divide both sides by 23
19/23 = x
8 Switch sides
x = 19/23
