x^2 + 10x + 4 = 0
you can use the quadratic formula to solve:
a = 1, b = 10, c = 4
x = - b ± √b^2 - 4ac / 2a
x = - 10 ± √ (10) 2 - 4 (1) (4) / 2 (1)
x = - 10 ± √84 / 2
x = - 0.42 or - 9.58
