Total one winter week snow fall = 15 1/2 inches.

    On Monday it's = 2 3/4 inches.

    On Tuesday = 1 1/2 times of 2 3/4 inches = 3/2 * 11/4 = 33/8 = 4 1/8 inches.

    On Wednesday = 7/8 inches.

    Total snow fall on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday = 2 3/4 inches + 4 1/8 inches + 7/8 inches

    = 6 + 3/4 + 1/8 + 7/8 = 6 + 6/8 + 1/8 + 7/8

    = 6 + 14/8 = 6 + 1 6/8 = 7 6/8 or 7 3/4 inches.

In rest of the week the snow fall is = 15 1/2 inches - 7 3/4 inches.

    8 inches + (1/2 - 3/4) = 8 inches + (2/4 - 3/4)

    8 - 1/4 = 8/1 - 1/4

    = 32/4 - 1/4

    = 31 / 4

    = 7 3/4 inches.

Therefore, the town got 7 3/4 inches snow fall the rest of the week.
