A race was 11/12 mile long. Hamish ran 4/5 of the distance. Without multiplying explain how you know that the answer must be less than 11/12. How far did he run?

    4/5 is less than 1 therefore 4/5*11/12 must be less than 11/12

    11/12 * 4/5 = 44/60 = 11/15
