    f (x) = 2^x-3

    f (6) = 2^x-3

    f (6) = 2^6-3

    f (6) = 64-3 = 61

    f (4) = 2^ 4-3

    f (4) = 16-3

    f (4) = 13

average rate of change = change in f (x) / change in x

    = (61-13) / (6-4)

    =48/2

    =24
