Part A: Find a rational number that is between 3.7 and 3.9. Explain why it is rational.

Part B: Find an irrational number that is between 3.7 and 3.9. Explain why it is irrational. Include the decimal approximation of the irrational number to the nearest hundredth.

    between 3.7 and 3.9

    =37 / 10 & 39 / 10 (we multiply the numerator and denominator of both numbers)

    = 38 / 10 (38 / 10 or 3.8 is a rational number between 3.7 and 3. 9)

    = 3. 8
