You make a necklace using blue, purple, and green beads in a ration of 1:1:2. You use the total of 168 beads. How many green beads in the necklace?

    # of blue beads = x

    # of purple beads = x

    # of green beads = 2x

    The total number of beads = x + x + 2x = 168

    So 4x = 168 means x = 42 and there are

    2x = 2 * 42 = 84 green beads
