    width (w) : x

    Length (L) : x + 1

    Perimeter = 2 (L) + 2 (w)

    14 = 2 (x + 1) + 2 (x)

    14 = 2x + 2 + 2x

    14 = 4x + 2

    12 = 4x

    3 = x

    Length: x + 1 = (3) + 1 = 4

    Answer: width = 3, length = 4
