    smaller x = - 4 larger x = - 1/5

    Step-by-step explanation:

    zeros occur when y (or in this case g (x)) = 0

    -5x-1=0

    -5x=1

    x=-1/5

    and

    2x+8=0

    2x=-8

    x=-4
