    f (x) = 3x² - 5x + 2

    g (x) = 4x - 6

    f (x) + g (x)

    (3x² - 5x + 2) + (4x - 6)

    3x² - 5x + 2 + 4x - 6

    3x² - 5x + 4x + 2 - 6

    3x² - x - 4
