Suppose y varies directly with x. Write a direct variation equation that relates x and y

0.7x - 1.4y=0

    direct variation y = kx

    0.7x - 1.4y=0

    add 1.4y to each side

    .7x = 1.4y

    divide each side by 1.4

    .7x/1.4 = y

    .5 x = y
