log (t-3) = log (17-4t)
since they are both logs to the same base, what is inside must be the same
t-3 = 17 - 4t
add 4t to each side
t-3+4t = 17-4t+4t
5t-3 = 17
add 3 to each side
5t - 3+3 = 17+3
5t = 20
divide each side by 5
t = 4
