    4 (x + 9) + 5x = 9x - 36

    => 4x + 36 + 5x = 9x - 36

    => 9x + 36 = 9x - 36

    => 9x - 9x = - 36 - 36

    => 0 = - 72

    You can see that the equation doesn't hold true.

    So there is no solution for this equation.

    Answer is C. no real solutions
