First we multiply the left side by the - 2 to get rid of the brackets:
-2x + - 10 = - 3
Next we add 10 to both sides to get x and its multiplier by itself.
-2x = 7
Now we divide both sides by two to get rid of the multiplier on x:
x = 3.5

-2x-10=-3 which equals - 2x=7 then divide by - 2 and get x=-3.5
