To find the median: Write every number from your dot plot out in order from least to greatest. Remember to write the number multiple times if there are multiple dots above it. Figure out which number is in the center of the numbers you just wrote out. If the center falls between two numbers, you can use decimals. For example: Your median falls between 27, 28. Your median would be 27.5. Usually you will have an exact center of your data and won't need to resort to decimals.
To find the mode: The number that appears the most in your data set is the mode. With a dot plot, it will be super easy to find this. Just look at which number has the most dots above it.
