    90 yards in 15 minutes = 6 yds/min

    90 yards in 9 minutes = 10 yds/min

    x = current rate

    r = rowing rate

    r + x = 10

    r - x = 6 Adding both equations

    2 r = 16

    rowing rate = 8 yds/min

    x = 2 yds/min (current rate)
