    No matter how big the triangle was to start with, as long as there was a right angle in it and one of the other angles was 38 degrees, then the ratio would be 0.616 between the opposite side and the hypotenuse.

    In the diagram below the ratio of BC / AC is the Sin (A). If it is 38 degrees then Sin (A) = BC / AC = 0.616 not matter how big the triangle is.
