Joe and grace are baking cookies. They need a total of 2 cups of sugar for the recipe. Joe has 7/8 of a cup of sugar and grace has 3/4 cups of sugar. Do they have enough sugar

    To add fractions we must make the bottom the same so we do this

    3/4=6/8

    6/8+7/8=13/8 which equals 1 and 5/8

    Therefore they do not have enough sugar and are missing 3/8 a cup of sugar.
