If Sara owns one more than twice as many books that Franks has then she has twice as many plus one more. Say Frank has 12 books, multiply that by 2 and then add 1.

    Your equation should look like this: S = 1 + 2x

2x+1 since Sara has twice as many (2x), and one more (+1).
