Lena's family is planning a retailer garden. They make a scale diagram of the girl using a scale of 1 inch to 0.5 m. If the length of the scale diagram is 24 inches, and it's with is 16 inches, what is the perimeter of the actual garden?

    Step 1: Convert the the inches of the scale to the meters of the real garden

    1 in =.5 m

    16 in *.5 = 12

    24 in *.5 = 8

    Step 2: Use the perimeter (P = 2L + 2W) equation to solve.

    W = 12 m

    L = 8 m

    P = 2 (8) + 2 (12)

    P = 16 + 24

    P = 40 m
