5x + 5 = 3x; subtract 5x from both sides
5 = - 2x; divide both sides by - 2
-2.5 = x
Substitute to make sure it's right. 5 (-2.5 + 2) = 3 (-2.5) + 5
5 (-0.5) = - 7.5 + 5
