What is the zero (x intercept) of the following equation 5x + 2y = 20

    5x + 2 (0) = 20 - --> Since 0 times anything is 0 we end up with 5x = 20.

    5x = 20 - --> Next divide both sides by 5.

    x = 4 - --> This is your x intercept.
