Dixon and his little sister Ariadne stand next to each other on the playground on a sunny afternoon. Their mother measured their shadows. Dixon's shadow is 18 feet long and is 18 feet long and ariadne's shadow is 15 feet long. If Dixon is 6 feet tall, how tall is Ariadne?

    Dixon is 3 times smaller than his shadow, so the equation 18 : 3 = 6 gives you his actual height. So we now know you are 3 times shorter than your shadow, so divide Ariadne's shadow height by three: 15 : 3 = 5 feet tall

    Ariadne is 5 feet tall
