    Simplify 19/4a to 19a/4

    61/28 + a = 19a/4 - 11/7

    Multiply both sides by 4

    61/7 + 4a = 19a - 44/7

    Subtract 4a from both sides

    61/7 = 19a - 44/7 - 4a

    Simplify 19a - 44/7 - 4a to 15a - 44/7

    61/7 = 15a - 44/7

    Add 44/7 to both sides

    61/7 + 44/7 = 15a

    Simplify 61/7 + 44/7 to 15

    15 = 15a

    Divide both sides by 15

    1 = a

    Switch sides

    a = 1
