You are at the supermarket and trying to decide between two brands of ham. You have no preference between the brands, but you do want to pay as little as possible per pound.

Brand A ham costs $13.99 and weighs 5.2 lb.

Brand B ham is on sale for $2.59/lb and weighs 6.2 lb.

Which brand of ham is the better deal and what is the unit price of that ham?

    Brand B has the better deal because it is less then brand A

    BRAND A = $13.99/5.2lb = $2.69

    BRAND B = 6.2lb=$2.59 = $2.39
