Harold measured a neighborhood park and made a scale drawing. He used the scale 14 inches : 5 yards. If the actual length of a soccer field in the park is 100 yards, how long is the field in the drawing?

    First you would want to covert the yards into inches so you don't have any fractions. It would then be 14:180 and x:3600 so to solve this proportion you would next get 180x = 50,400 then you would divide 180 by 50,400 to isolate the variable which would then give you 280 inches
